A little bit of Poe - Day 12 of 31 Days of Halloween

For my project today I decided to try something new. While I was shopping the other day I saw some really cool halloween glasses that were clear glass covered by black paint except for the image...kinda like a burn-out image....so I wanted to try it. I used an old mason jar and some flat black spray paint. I made a stencil out of my stamp and used elmer's glue to adhere it to my jar where I wanted it to stay clear glass. Then I sprayed away! The hardest part was making the stencil. Once the paint was dry i scraped the stencil off to reveal my image. To finish off the jar I used some hot glue to drip down the top and colored it with some nail polish.

These aren't the best pictures in the world...idealy it would have a tealight candle in it, but I didn't have any, so I had to light it up with my lamp so you could see the image.

I'm thinking of doing a mini jar to match that uses the Nevermore stamp (Smeared Ink). Hope you recognize this guy  :)

Day 11 of 31 Days of Halloween!

Once again I'm not ready for the day. I had a rough night last night with my meds. They're upsetting my stomach - I think I'm not eating enough before I take them and it's killing me. I will do better though... I will try to have something up later today.   :)

A Li'l Book of Li'l Creepies - Day 10 of 31 days of Halloween

To honor day 10 of Halloween, I created a Li'l Book of Creepie Li'l Grumpies (Smeared Ink). Each page was distressed and contains it's own Grumpie and sentiment. Each Grumpie was stamped, colored, cut out, and the glued into the book.

This is a fold up, accordion styled card. The front and back cover are made from foam board covered in paper that was also distressed. I used orange acrylic paint to drip down the from and back. The finishing touch was adding the sentiment "Happy Halloween".

Although this project seemed simple in my head, it was loads of work!!! I had tons 'o fun coloring a cutting. I hope you like them!!

Home Sweet Home - Day 9 of 31 Days of Halloween

Today I did something a little different. I got this really cool cardboard skull from Michael's. Some of you may have seen these and I know have already used them for some awesome projects.

For my skull, I used a whole lot of Mod Podge and a whole lot of white tissue paper. I crumbled up the tissue and applied it to my skull everywhere but the teeth and the bottom. After that, I coated the top of the tissue paper in the Mod Podge to give it that extra hold and a little bit of shimmer. I used watered down black acrylic paint and Tim holtz distressing ink to color the "skin" (tissue paper).

Then, I added the spiders, two big ones and two little ones (Smeared Ink's Killer Bo Peep set). I colored them with prismacolor markers before gluing them with sone Elmer's glue to the skull - leaving portions raised up to give them some depth.

The last touch was the copper colored bow that I got from a really awesome gift that I received this week. Thanks Black Dragon!!!

Autumn Equinox - Day 8 of 31 Days of Halloween

Today I decided to tone down the creepiness a little and do more of a tribute card to nature and mother earth. I worked with two sets from Smeared Ink, Elementals (rubber) and The Patch (digi). I colored both images with my prismacolor markers and used a little bit of tim holtz distressing inks. Black cardstock for my base and frame. I bought these really cool self adhesive bead/sticker thingies....they are really cool, so I used those on the frame. I used the same technique to float the frame as I did yesterday on lonely boy. Once everything was in place I sprayed it all with GOLD!!!!!!! Gold glitter that is. ;)

Lonely Boy - Day 7 of 31 Days of Halloween!

Thank you for all the well wishes yesterday! I am still not 100% but am feeling much better.

Alrighty....for Day 7 - I used one of my cool coffins that I got from Michael's. I spray painted the entire thing black and glue'd some catfish bones (we have a big pond and I find bones all the time) to the outside of the coffin. I distressed the bones with Tim Holtz inks. Then I stamped my Lonely Boy (Smeared Ink) images on white card stock, colored them with prisma color markers, and cut them out. Let me tell you, cutting out a spider web is not easy...even with an Xacto blade. After all my pieces were colored and trimmed, I made a couple of paper accordians by folding black card stock in opposite directions. I used these to "float" my stamped images inside the coffin. After getting them all in place I added some dark purple tissue paper as the coffin lining. You can see that Lonely Boy floats above the lining...cause he's a ghost...DUH! LOL  ;)  I put Puff and his spiderweb on the opposite side and then I painted the OOZE with acrylic paints. I used a fork to get the dripping effect on the outside of the coffin. Day 6 of 31

Sorry guys, but I haven't caught up yet. I've had some issues this week and have been feeling really horrible. I'm gonna go to the doctor today. But this also means that I didn't get my project for today done yet. I'll try to get it up later. Again, SORRY!!! Please don't be mad.
