Smeared and Smudged meets Delicious Doodles!

Today, our wonderfully talented DT has come together to share art using images from Delicious Doodles. Delicious Doodles is one of our challenge sponsors this month on the forum and we're so grateful! Teri (from DD) is super talented and also cool enough to join us today on our hop.

Lady bugs are very special to me because they represent my daughter - she's my little lady bug. So, for my project I chose to work with Delicious Doodles' image "Love Bug". Cutest little lady bug EVAR (well, if you don't count my baby girl). Anyhoo, I found some awesome mini pails at michael's and decided it would work perfect with my love bug. I also found some really cool lady bug push pins and brought them home too. The hardest part of my project was working with the mini-size objects. I printed the love bug out at 1.5 inches tall. That's tiny! Then, I used some paper clay and molded a body for the love bug so she would be 3D. While I was at it, I also molded some skulls and some bone fragments (also tiny). These all went into my mini pail. I painted the clay with paint pens and then I glued everything in place. I love the outcome and so does my daughter. This will hang in her bedroom :)

I took this picture from a top angle so you could see the cool lid :)

Here is a straight-on shot.

I took this photo so you could see the back of the lady bug. I forgot to take pictures before I glued it in, but I molded it out of clay and painted it with paint pens.

If you like what you see, be sure to visit Smeared and Smudged. The challenges and prizes are awesome!

Repost of My Lily Allen Card

Hi All...I just wanted to repost my card from the hop yesterday. Some people were offended by my art. So in their honor, I created a censored version since they couldn't handle it. (apparently, it's NOT ok to be gay  ;)

January Smeared and Smudged Member Blog Hop!

Thanks for joining us today for our January Member blog hop!! I hope you're having a blast so far and enjoying all the awesome creativity! If you haven't visited our forum, you're missing out...click here if you'd like to join in! We have a great group, lots of inspiration, and fun challenges!!

On to my offering! For my creation I used one of our new Smeared Ink digis from the Femdom collection. This set is so much fun, and right up my alley. I was inspired by a song from Lily Allen and used her lyrics on the card. I was going for a comic book look...so it's very simple, but I hope you like it!! (BTW, I hope you notice that I "popped" up the boobs and the right leg on the girl in front...first time I've tried that and I love the look of it!)

Here's the hop list! Off you go, and if you like what you see, be sure to leave some love!!

Aren't they great! So now, let's get on to the HOP and all the great creations from our Smeared and Smudged Design Team!

For my creation I used the digis from three of the new sets. I used the sentiment "Smitten" (from Smitten, of course ;), the Smooching Grumpies (from Love Grumpies), and one of the awesome cars (from Shift My Gears). I colored my images with prismacolor markers and a white gel pen. Then I took an 8 x 8 canvas and painted it with acrylic paints. I distressed some manilla paper and glued it to my canvas...the glued a distressed paper heart doiley. The finishing touches were glueing my car and grumpies onto the canvas along with some lovely 3-D flower stickers and my sentiment. This is WAY cutsie for my taste, but I think it turned out really well and I hope you like it!

Day 1 and Day 2 of my Art Journal

Day 1: I played with a tutorial on using alcohol inks on glossy paper. It was really fun, especially since I don't have any experience with them. It called for glossy paper and hair spray. You spray the paper with the hair spray until it puddles, then drip you're ink into it. I did a couple different trials and noted different steps that I used to get the outcome. Like I said, it was really fun and quick....I will probably be using it for a project in the near future!

Day 2: It's not finished....I sewed  some paper from Madness Paper (one of our challenge sponsors this month at Smeared and Smudged) and added a dead dancer digi (smeared ink's)....and some corners (more digis)...then I distressed it all. I left a space of "light" in the upper right for some notes or words of inspiration that I haven't found yet.

Art Journal - the quest for creativity

Me and some other members at the Smeared and Smudged forum have been inspired to start Art Journals! We are committing to at least ten minutes!! So far this has been inspirational to say the least and it's only been two days! Anyhoo, I thought I'd share my title page with you. I might add to it later, but for now, this is it! I used a Grumpie stamp from Smeared Ink's Occasional Grumpies set.
