March member blog hop for Smeared and Smudged!

It's that time again! Time for the Smeared and Smudged member blog hop. The theme this time around is......END OF THE RAINBOW!!

Now, if you know anything about our members, cute rainbows are not what you will see today! So be prepared! I actually tamed my imagination down a bit. I went colorful and made a step card ( I think that's what they're called). First time for me, so definitely could use some practice!

I printed the sky image, rainbow and pot of gold from the interwebs (courtesy of google). Then I cut them out and distressed them with TH black soot. I heat embossed some gold into the pot so that the gold was a little more believable. For the background image...I embossed a few different splatters from the Smeared Ink Inky Dreams rubber set. Looks like my rainbow threw-up on the sky! I also heat embosses some of my Heart wings on black card stock and cut them out so they look like birds. I used pop dots to raise them up. I colored my Smeared Ink Ghouly Witch with copics and then cut her out.....and then the grass is just cut from some green paper from my stash. The final touch was spraying it all down with some gold glitter....it doesn't photograph well, so I'm not sure if you can see it. This didn't come out quite as I had pictured it in my head, but that's how it goes sometimes! I hope you like it!

Now off you go! Go check out all the other amazing projects by our forum members. Be sure to leave them some love and tell them how much you like their creations!

Altered Doll/Bottle

Here is a little something I created for the GDT Challenge on Smudgy Antics. Mark Gould is our GDT and he is an excellent artist. I hope you have a chance to visit the forum to check it out and hopefully play along!

Here are the pieces I gathered to create my altered doll.

The first thing I did was paint the stomach with black gesso and some molding paste to give it some texture. Then I cover everything in crackle because that takes a while to dry. After it was done drying I  started painting! I used a few different colors of acrylics. The botton layer is blue then I dry brushed the green and brown.

Once I had all the pieces painted and dried I began to assemble him. His heart is heat embossed from a Smeared Ink stamp from the Candy Is Dandy set. Hope you like him! (sorry, lots of pics to follow)
