OK, well, my finale project didn't work out....so I have created a digital piece for you. Both of the images used are digital stamps. The jar and hands are from Smeared Ink and the Holiday Gal in the jar is from Digital Two for Tuesday. I hope you like it! Sorry it wasn't hand-made!

Tellen's Place & Smeared and Smudged!

Welcome to the Smeared and Smudged Blog hop with Tellen's Place! Tellen's Place is one of our fabulous sponsors over on the S&S Forum this month! Head on over to participate in a challenge and you may have the chance to win an awesome digi image like this one!

For the hop today, I was priviledged enough to work with the Chained Ghost from Tellen's Place. He's super cool and since I was in the "christmas mode" I thought he would be very fitting. He's really cool and was fun to color. I used mostly gray toned prismacolors with a dash of yellow and orange tinge. I used crackle on the tombstone to make it a little more textured. For my background and stairs I used some stamps from Smeared Ink's Urban Decay set stamped in silver, white, and gold on the black card stock.......I attached some brads to my door and also hung some gold chain from the sides of my card. The finishing touch was the sign at the top of my card that says, "BAH, HUMBUG". I hope you like it!

Now, be sure to go check out the challenges on the Forum for your chance to win, and hop on over to the other DT member blogs listed below to see more great projects using images from Tellen's Place!

Dead Dancer Stocking - Day 11 of 12 Days of Christmas

OK, FINALLY! Sorry about that everyone. For Day 11, I worked with a Smeared Ink digi called Marionett Dancer - Pointing. She is one of my favorites and I love coloring her. I made her pretty large because I wanted to to really stand out of the top of the stocking. The stocking came from a Christmas paper pad that I got from Michael's. So....I cut out my bow and stocking and glue'd them together. Then I colored my dancer with my prismacolors and cut her out. I placed her in the stocking and then put a halo above her head with some crafting wire. I also used the crafting wire to make a loop above the stocking to hang it...and tied a bow. Here you go, hope you like  :)

Li'l Grumpie Tags - Day 8 of 12 Days of Christmas

Sorry for the late post! I've had a lot going on, as I'm sure most of you have too. For my project today I made some gift tags using Smeared Ink's Li'l Grumpies. I bought the tags from target and stamped my images with distress ink. I also distressed the edges and then covered my grumpies in glossy accents to make them shiny. For the back of the tags I colored an ornament reath and a present and used my computer to make the "to" & "from" pieces. I distressed the edges of those too and then glue'd them all together. Hope you like them...they're pretty simple.

Christmas Cookies - Day 7 of 12 Days of Christmas

Ok...today isn't going to be very impressive, but it might be inspiring! LOL. I've been wanting to try this for a while, and haven't even gotten close to doing any good with it. The plan was to make sugar cookies with my stamped images on top for decoration. Have any of you try this before? Did you have any success? If so, can you give me some pointers?

First attempt:
I put pieces of paper towels in a shallow dish and soaked in food coloring. I made my cookie dough, flattened it by dipping the bottom of a glass in sugar and pressing it...then I took my stamps (from Smeared Ink's Skelly Christmas Set), dipped them in my homemade food coloring ink pads, and stamped them into the dough. Then I baked them. This method wasn't successful. There was either too much ink or not enough. It ended up being just big blobs of color.

Second attempt:
I used the same steps to flatten my dough. For the images this time, I stamped into the dough without the coloring. Then I took a paint brush and painted the food coloring into the indentions left by the stamps. This method looks better, but still not successful.

Like I said, if anyone has any ideas to make this work, I'm all ears! Sorry for not having something more awesome for you today, but I tried!!

Please don't forget about the other wonderfully inspiring and creative Jolly Bloggers.

Rat Fink - Round 3

Worked on the Rat Fink some more last night. Jon wanted to add in a pinstriping brush... Since that's his art. It came out really well. We'll be adding some more colors and some highlighting later. After adding the brush we worked in the red. We'll probably darken the inner part of the mouth so it doesn't look like his shirt. But overall, this went really well :)

Have a Very Skelly Christmas - Day 6 of 12 Days of Christmas

So glad you all came back after seeing the nakedness from Day 5!! ;)

Thank you all for the wonderful compliments. I just want to take a moment to say if you're loving what you see on our hop then you should join us on the Smeared and Smudged Forum. It's an awesome place with a lot of diversity, inspiration, and just plain fun. The challenges are always great and you can win some awesome prizes!

Ok, now for my Day 6 offering. I altered a wall hanger that I actually bought for the 31 Days of Halloween. I never got around to using it (among many other things). It's a skull & crossbones hanger with a plaque underneath. All bare wood. I got it from Michael's. The first thing I did was spray paint my base color, green. After drying, I applied lots of green and blue distress ink and the stamped some screws (from Smeared Ink's Urban Decay) around the edges and on the skull. I set that aside to dry.

I stamped out my Stocking Skellies (Smeared Ink) and candy canes and colored them with my prismacolors. I cut them out and glued them to the plaque. Next, I got some DP and cut out the shape of a Santa hat to glue onto my skull. I used batting for the fluff.

The finishing touch was adding glossy accents to the Skelly's glasses, candy canes, screws, and spots on the hat. The last thing was writing out "Have a Very Skelly Christmas" in white paint pen.

Don't forget my fellow Jolly Bloggers! Be sure to leave them some love. The list is located on my sidebar.

O Christmas Tree - Day 5 of 12 Days of Christmas

Welcome BACK! For my day 5 project I made a card using the Tree Nymph from Smeared Ink. She is so awesome and one of my all time favorite images! I colored her in with prismacolor markers. For the paper, I used my Recollections DP Christmas pad. I distressed the edges and used Tim Holtz distressing inks. My little embellishment in the bottom corner was a free download from Dover that I also distressed and put some brads in. Once i glue'd everything together I used some glitter glue to highlight the top and bottom edges of my card and in the center holes of the tag and embellishment. I added some little star stickers and the finishing touch was adding some baubles around the branches of the tree. My intent was to color them and make them look like ornaments, but I think they look pretty the way they are...almost like snow falling....or sparklies....so I left them as is. I hope you like!!

Merry Christmas Tag - Day 4 of 12 Days of Christmas

Well this time I made my first attempt at using alcohol inks...and I have to say that they are pretty freakin' cool! So excited to try it on more things. I kept this project fairly simple. It's a tag that I cut out of some DP (Recollections Christmas Pad) and distressed with my Tim Holtz inks. For the dangler I used some Ideaology Fragments that i applied the alcohol inks to and glued them to my stamped images with glossy accents. I also used a picture of my daughter from her 1 year birthday (isn't she adorable!). I hung the fragments from a silver jingle bells necklace that I got from Walmart and the attached it to my tag. I also cut out the sentiment, "Merry Christmas" from the paper pad, distressed the edges, and added some brads. I hot-glue'd it to my tag along with some gold ribbon...and VOILA! Like I said, it's simple, but I like it. It will be hanging on my Christmas Tree!!

Happy Hopping!!!  :)

The Wonder of Christmas - Day 3 of 12 Days of Christmas

Hello again and welcome back! Today I bring you a card that I created with Smeared Ink's Skellies. I colored my images with prismacolors and used a little bit of glitter glue. My card base was white card stock that I textured with snowflakes and painted light blue. I distressed the edges and added some snow balls. :)

Oh yea, and don't forget to visit the other Jolly Bloggers and leave them some love for a chance to win!!

Fae's Gift- Day 2 of 12 Days of Christmas!

Hello again and thanks for coming back! This is day 2 of 12 days of Christmas! Today I bring you a gift from Smeared Ink's Faes....I hope you like it!

I built the template for my box on my computer and printed it out. Then I applied some DP to it and distressed it all. I colored my crouching Fae with my prismacolor markers and added some glittery awesomeness! LOL. I also added a bindi to his forehead. I really liked that addition! To complete the outside of the box I made a small tag that says "Believe", also a stamp from the Fae set...and the I added some gold ribbon trim to the bottom.

For the inside of my box I used the same paper, distressed it, and added some wood buttons to keep my bottles seperated. These bottles came from Terra, but were sent to her from Lady Brayton! THANKS TO BOTH OF YOU!! I made the labels for my bottles on the computer, printed them out and distressed them. I glue'd them to my bottles with Mod Podge and also used it to seal the labels. If you can't read them, they say "Amethyst", "Jasmine", and "Rose Quartz"... Here you go! I hope you love it!

All of the Jolly Bloggers are listed in my sidebar, so when you're done taking a look at my project, be sure to move on down the blog roll and see all the awesomeness!

NOEL - Day 1 of 12 Days of Christmas!

Well, I didn't plan so well for this (surprise, surprise!), but I got a card done for day 1. I think this is probably the ugliest card I've done to date, LOL, but oh well. Here you go!

I used Smeared Ink's Carnie Girl and the Pouting Witch digi, along with the presents from Kenny K. I used some DP, brads, and a little embossing (which you can't see, but there are snowflakes pressed into the silver topper...I was going for tinsel, LOL). My stamps were colored with prismacolors.

Make sure you visit all the Jolly Hoppers to be entered in for the grand prize!! The blog roll is on my sidebar to the left.

Check back on the 3rd! Better things to come!!

Kenny K and Smeared Ink with a dash of Holiday Cheer....

Ha ha ha...ok, so I've had the busiest weekend ever! Sorry this is so late. I got up at 4am to do it and just barely got the chance to get my post up. But I'm so glad you came back! This very cool DT hop is featuring Kenny K's awesome images! If you're not familiar with Kenny K, you MUST check him out! His images are EDGY and HAWT! If you don't have an image or two of his you are DEFINITELY missing out!

The Smeared INK DT had the privilege of working with some of Kenny's awesome images. Check out the projects the DT gals have come up with for your viewing pleasure and be sure to leave some love. If you like what you see, be sure to pick up an image or two at Kenny's store. Also, be sure to check out Smeared Ink's forum, Smeared and Smudged, for more delicious eye-candy and inspiration. The gals and I would love to have you hang with us!

For my project I played with a sassy holiday beauty. My first thoughts was to color her red/green, the typical Christmas colors, but then I thought, lets do something different. So, I made her a snow queen! I love her blue hair! I colored her with my prismas and also used some glitter glue. For my background I used silver metallic card stock and used some patterned paper to make some windy whisps and a frame. For my snow hill I soaked some crumbled card stock in some watered down metallic periwinkle solution and let it dry. Hope you like!!

Here is the blogroll for the hop, make sure you visit everyone if you haven't already!

I'm not quite ready yet, but check back later for my Kenny K Project!

November Smeared Ink New Release Blog Hop!!

Woohoo! We've got some awesome new stamps sets! We'd love to introduce you to the wonderful artwork of Misty Benson. You might have seen her work on her website at Morbidly Adorable...well, we have her first two stamp sets, A Very Skelly Christmas and Morbidly Adorable Tarot:Set 1- available now in our shop for preorder.

We've also released two awesome background sets, Urban Decay and Inky Dreams.

To celebrate our November release we've brought our design team together to bring you another fabulous hop!! I chose to work with The Fool from Misty's Tarot Set 1. I used my prismacolor markers to color her in and a white gel pen for the highlights. I used crackle on my hideaway book and distressed it with Tim Holtz distressing inks. I drew in the words "Fools Hideaway" and colored it in with some glitter glue. I haven't decided what to hide inside yet, but I'll be sure to share when I figure it out. Hope you like!!

*yes, I realize that I misspelled Hideaway - I'm a dork.

Ok, here's my finished product! He's a DIY Munny doll. I used sculpy clay to mold his face, feet, and tail. I used the wings from Praise Angel (Smeared Ink) and my rider is from Candy is Dandy (also Smeared Ink).

I colored them with spray paint and paint markers

Here is what he looked like before...
