MINI BOOK

So - here we go. I apologize because this will be a long post and full of photos! I struggled with the planning of this....as most of you know - i am a last minute kinda girl and having to actually plan something out and spend days creating it REALLY threw me for a loop! I've also never really created a book before. I've done a few matchbooks, but that's it....so the construction really baffled me! It was really hard but i'm glad I did it. I'm proud of my creation and hope you like it too!

I started with this little raw wood purse-type thingy.....and decided that I wanted to put my book inside of it. I painted it with black gesso and then hot glued some black furry goodness to it. Next, I lined the inside with foil and also did some foil stripes down the side where I glued some studs (upside-down screws). I also glued screws to the mouth for teeth! Then - the final touch was printing out my creepy red eyes three times, layered them, glossed them and then glued into place. He is the keeper of my book!

Now for the guts! The book images were printed from some of SI's new images from the Hidden set and Broken and Bleeding set. I colored them all with my copic and prisma markers...then added some touches of glossy accents....fussy cut the all out and set them aside until I was ready for them.

The pages were assembled using all kinds of fun stuff. DPs, stickers, brads, foil, vellum, transparency, embossing folders, utee, washi tape....etc... The cover was made from cardboard that I textured with molding paste, painted with black gesso and then poured some colored UTEE over it . I wanted to do more with the cover, but there was so much stuff going on inside the book and then once I placed it inside the case I figured "keep it simple". OK - phew! Here are some pics!

(you can click on any of the photos to see them bigger)

Front cover of the book

He's keeping a close eye on the book - keeping it safe!

First page is embossed laminate that I added some black ink to the raised portions so you could see it better

Second page...I pleated the washi tape at the bottom

KEEP OUT tag pulls out from the bottom

here's a closer look - used glossy to accent her eyes

next page is pretty simple - wash tape at the bottom again and i even added a cool skull hand sticker!

another embossed laminate page, this time it's spider webs

close up

this beauty is my favorite! you can see i used the washi tape again on the side...used glossy to accent the red

pull-out tag that says Trouble with a cool skull

more washi tape and glossy accents on the red

vellum this time with a tag inside

tag says Condemned

That's it! Thanks for looking!
