OK, finally finished my project from the January Mixed Media class at Smeared and Smudged. This class was really simple and fun! I also love my results - you all should check it out and try it out! I'm sure Kristy would love to see more participants!
So, I started with a 5 x 7 canvas and a frame that I picked up from Michael's for $1. I painted them both with black acrylic paint.... once dry, I sanded away some of the black paint from my frame which was originally blue...this revealed some of that pretty blue. Then set that aside.
I made some molds from my Quoth the Raven stamps and then used sculpy clay to make some pieces to use in and around my frame. I baked them, painted them and then sanded them.
Next, I got some letters and painted them with my distress pens (picket fence and china). Set those aside. Colored some background stamps and stamped the corners of my canvas (using the picket fence distress marker) and also lined the outer edge. Last, I got my lace and used the china distress marker to highlight the patter in it....and glued it all together.....Here is the finished piece! Hope you all like it! Can't wait to see what everyone else does too!!
Here are some detail pics and different angles.
This will be entered into the QTR Challenge - Quest 17 - Anything Poes
OMG - totally stunning.... this is soooo cool. What a brilliant mixture of techniques. I love your moulds too. I might go over and have a play at this, but I am a little unused to mixed media :-(
