Day 25 - 31 Days of Halloween

Thanks for coming back by my blog... You all have been awesome and very understanding. Thank you for your wonderful comments, even when I had nothing to post!  :)

Today I brought you another digital creation using Bat 3 from A little bit batty (smeared ink) and some images I found via Google. I used Adobe Photoshop to alter and color my images as well as put Nosferatu's silhouette on the moon. I created this for HDH's challenge - HDH156 - Nosferatu Ad nauseam. Hope you all like it!

Alright, now off you go! Enjoy your hop!! You go to visit Kristy next!

Day 23 - 31 Days of Halloween

Here we go!  A quickie that I made for day 23 and also for QTR. The kitten image is from Ike's Art....I believe it was one of her freebies that she gave away, Thanks Ike!

I wanted to make it a black cat for halloween and then decided to theme it to go with Edgar Allan Poe's "The Black Cat".  Hope you like it!

Day 15 - 31 Days of Halloween

Here we go with day 15! Whoo! I'm so inspired by everyone, you guys ROCK!

I just want to give a quick mention about the Smeared Ink Rubber Club. Today is the last day to sign up for the October Set, "AsDeath". Don't miss out! You can get all the details here:
RUBBER CLUB

My offering for today is a mini tin. This was originally covered in batman greatness - and yes, I had a hard time painting over him...but did it. I used acrylic paint for the inside and out and also used some cardboard to create my divided space on the inside. My hubby helped me figure that one out (thanks babe!). I decorated the outside with some awesome stickers that i got from Lady Brayton (thanks LB!), arent they FAB!?!

The contents of my tin consist of a mini potion book and three small vials of potions. The image of the bottles on the potion book is actually one of our Halloween Digi Doodles that we used for the scavenger hunt. I'm going to place those images in our store today, so keep your eyes peeled! Hope you like it!!

Day 9 - 31 Days of Halloween

YAY! Day 9 - I can't believe I haven't missed a day yet! Maybe I'll actually make it for the entire 31 days this year!! It's very exciting to think that I can actually complete it. You guys are doing an awesome job as well and thank you for coming back and checking out all our fabby Halloween projects.

So....Do you guys know about our challenge blog, Smudgy Antics? It's a dark challenge blog run by the Smeared Ink Design Team. They are a wonderfully talented group of artists that I hope you are all familiar with. They make weekly projects to inspire you and show off our Smeared Ink images. Will you stop by and say hello? Better yet, stop by and PLAY ALONG! 31 Days is a perfect opportunity to make some dark art and it would fit perfect with our weekly themes this month. In fact, this week's theme is "Movie Madness".... I know you have a favorite scary movie...one with a vampire, maybe...or a werewolf? Zombie or ghosts? Any of those would work and you get another chance to WIN an awesome prize. Smeared Ink is giving a $5 voucher to use in the shop! You don't even have to use a Smeared Ink image to play along...

Now for my offering for the day. I stamped on fabric for the first time EVAR! It was the most craziest thing I've ever done in my entire life....NOT! Ha....but it was definitely different. This is an image from the AS DEATH rubber set from Smeared Ink. It was discontinued for a while, but if you haven't heard, Smeared Ink has a new RUBBER CLUB! As Death is the first available rubber set. If you sign up before October 15th you can get it too! It's an awesome set.

I tried coloring in my image with my limited supply of Copic markers. Is that supposed to work? My colors bled like a slit throat, but I think it gave it a neat vintage effect. Anyhoooooo, I made this little pillow (with the help of my mommy because I don't know how to sew without poking a whole in my finger).

Whatcha think?

Day 8 - 31 Days of Halloween

Guess what? It's day 8 time! Whooo!
It's also a Monday, so I'm gonna keep this short and sweet like candy corn!

My offering today is a coffin shaped tag. I embossed a wood grain texture and then used my distress inks to give it some depth. Then I added my Skelly from the new smeared ink set "Danse Macabre". Then....embellishments! :) hope you like it!

Also, I wanted to remind you about Smudgy Antics, our challenge blog. Use this 31 Days opportunity to enter into our weekly challenges! We have great themes and a chance to win a Smeared Ink voucher! There is a new theme every Monday and this month is full of Halloween themes to encourage our 31 Days of Halloween participants to join in! We'd love to see you play!!!

Now - on to my offering for day 6. Today I honor one of my favorite authors. I call him the King of the Ravens. He is a master of horror....Edgar Allan Poe. I created this specifically for the challenge over at Quoth the Raven. You should check it out too! Some of my most favorite people in the world run that challenge.

Day 3 - 31 Days of Halloween

So glad you all have come back to visit me on Day 3! Are you having Halloween overload yet? I sure hope not!!! We've got 28 more days to go! We might be crazy, but in an awesome way!

For Day 3 I offer up another paper mâché coffin. This one is a little bit bigger than my coffin from yesterday. I lined the outside with some awesome "BOO" paper that I got from my good friend Lady Brayton, thanks Lady!! I painted over all the edges with black acrylic paint to give it a bit of a darker look. The inside was painted with black acrylic paint too, then I lined the bottom inside with white fur... :) .....looks comfy, eh? The final touch was to add my Happy Halloween sentiment that I stamped and heat embossed on a die cut piece of spider web glitter paper. Then I glued it to the inside. I know it seems a bit incomplete without someone/thing to occupy it, but I just haven't found the right "owner" yet.... I'll be sure to share when I find him/her/it!!! :)

Now off you go to visit the very talented Kristy next! If you get lost, remember that the hop list is on my sidebar! And keep your eyes peeled for the scavenger hunt!!!

Day 2 - 31 Days of Halloween

WOW! Wasn't yesterday AWESOME? I hope you all really enjoyed the opening day of 31 Days....it's just a taste of what is to come the rest of the month. All of our Wicked Bloggers are doing an excellent job and have such wonderfully inspiring work!

For Day 2 I decorated a paper mache coffin. I really love these coffins, you can get them at Michael's stores (if you have one near you). I painted the outside of this coffin all black and them used a Happy Haunting stamp to heat emboss on the front. Then I glued googlie-eyes all over it.

For the inside I lined the coffin with a really cool striped paper....and distressed it with my TH distress inks. While my coffin was drying I painted some styrofoam balls like eyeballs. Once everything was dry I glued the eye inside the coffin. FUN, HUH? LOL. I thought it'd be a nice suprise :)

Now - Get on your way and enjoy the day! You should go to Kristy next! If you get lost, remember that the hop list is on my sidebar!

Day 1 - 31 Days of Halloween!

Welcome to day 1 of the 4th annual 31 Days of Halloween. You should have gotten here from Terra's blog, but if you haven't been there yet, be sure to hop on over there to get all the details for the hop and all the info about today's prizes! Also, keep in mind that the hop goes live at 9AM 9PST) every day, so if you start early you might not get to see all of the day's posts. Be sure to check back after it officially starts for all the Halloween goodness! You don't want to miss it - we've got awesome sponsors all month long with awesome giveaways. We also have a HUGE grand prize from Smeared Ink!

To kick of the hop I wanted to give you something special, so I am sharing a Halloween decoration that I made for the Halloween SWAP over at the Smeared and Smudged forum. My item started as a raw wood four sided frame. The frame spins on the base. I just had to have this to alter - I bought it.

So the first think I did was cover the wood in Gesso. Then I mod podged some tissue paper all over to create the texture that you'll see below. Then - I painted it all black.

While it was drying I stamped my grave yard scenes from Holy City (a Smeared Ink set) onto some tissue paper and then glued it to the glass (i should have just stamped on the glass, but I was too worried I'd smear it or something). I then sprayed the outside of the glass with frosted glass and then dripped black ink down the tops of them. For that I used my Dylusions spray inks.

The last steps were to glue on my blackened flowers and skull to the top of the frame and then add my strobe light to the inside. The strobe light lights up the inside so that the grave scenes light up like there is a lightning storm! Hope you like it! And I hope TRISHA likes it - since I made it for her :)

Now off you go to the next Wicked Blogger, Kristy! The hop list is on my side bar in case you get lost! Be sure to leave everyone some love to qualify for the grand prize...and keep your eyes open for the scavenger hunt clue!!
